Happy 6 mos!

Half a year old! That's crazy!

Guess what our big girl did to celebrate her "birthday"??

She sat up all on her own! Can you believe it? She is also starting to smile more (although it's hard to catch with the camera!) and our serious little cutie is beginning to give up the giggles now. I guess she realizes we might actually be kinda funny :)

Here are her stats from the doctors office:
Height 26.25 in (75%)
Weight 15.3 lbs (50%)
Head 41 in (10%)
Again, a much smaller peanut than our Gaby ever was. Especially, the head circumference- I guess she was spared me and Gaby's big melon :)We are starting to get the sleeping under control, I think. Mila was moved into her own room, into her crib, we made some formula changes, started swaddling her again and have a pretty set bedtime routine. I believe all of these things are helping her to sleep for longer stretches. For a while there we were up EVERY.COUPLE.OF.HOURS!!!!And finally, our little girl is up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth already! I'm scared to think that crawling might be eminent. Yikes!!

Gaby's Bday Party

Happy 5th Birthday to my beautiful girl! This year for Gaby's party we did a princess tea party with Rapunzel as a special guest. (As a side note when Rapunzel called Gaby the night before the party, she was not believing it was her! It was so funny! The kid might be too smart for her own good! She kept saying - "You are not Rapanzel!! You're Aunt Michelle!" I dont know why she thought it was Michelle but there was no convincing her otherwise. But then when Rapunzel showed up at the party she did not doubt it for a second! Thank goodness!) Gaby's friends from dance and school joined her for a little running around, dancing, storytime, magic show, face painting and of course, cupcakes & tea. Five year olds sure know how to have a good time :) Our little family :)

5 Months

Mila is coming into her own this month. She is trying very hard to sit on her own and has mastered rolling from one side to the other. She's not a huge fan of being on her belly but I think is starting to realize that it opens up her world! She loves grabbing things and is always putting things in her mouth. She especially likes her forefinger :). She has also discovered her feet! Oh how fun it is to chew on ones own toes ;-) !!! We have tried eating cereal and some fruits here and there but our strong minded little girl is NOT interested in them at all! We'll keep trying because I'm really hoping food is the key to sleeping! She was sleeping really well (only up twice a night) and then something happened and we lost it completely :( This not sleeping thing is getting VERY old! Mama is soooo tired!

Other than that fun stuff,though, little Mila is still our very serious, observant, adorable cutie.

We left little Mila in Houston and spent 5 glorious days at the happiest place in the world!

Meeting, taking pictures, and getting autographs from ALL the princesses was a must!

It was exhilarating AND exhausting all at the same time :) As soon as we got on the plane to come back home, Gaby asked "When can we go back???". Oh geez.

Happy New Year!

Hard to believe it's already 2012. Hard to believe we have a new baby. Hard to believe we have an almost 5 yr old. Life moves so fast sometimes. People always tell you to appreciate every moment but it's hard to sometimes when you are so busy and time flies! We are so thankful for our beautiful, healthy girls. We are thankful for our amazing life and wonderful families. Here's to 2012! Hard to imagine it can get any better (maybe if I could get some sleep ;-) Ha!)

Louisiana

After Houston, we headed to the farm in Louisiana to spend a few days with Byron's family and all the aunts, uncles and cousins. I guess having a little one kept me so busy that I barely took any pictures. Also it was pretty darn cold and rainy so that kept us all inside most of the time. Sorry :(

Christmas 2011

Christmas morning is extremely exciting with an almost 5 yr old! We were awoken up at the crack of dawn and ran downstairs to see what Santa had left us... Too much stuff to fit in regular stockings... What am I supposed to do will ALL of this stuff???? Gaby and her new Cinderella castle... The next day we headed to Houston to celebrate with my family and to open even MORE presents... All the cousins... The girls and Tia Chela...

I'm Four Months, already???

Sweet little Mila had her 4 month doctor's appointment this week.
Her stats:
height-- 24.5 inches, 50%
weight-- 13.2 lbs, 50%

She's perfectly proportioned but still such a small peanut compared to her sister! The doctor said she looked "perfect" which always makes one very, very proud and she took her shots like a trooper. Now she did yell her head off but managed to calm down in what seemed like an appropriate amount of time. Her head control is really great and she is starting to smile alot. She doesn't really give up the giggles too much but we are certainly working on it! Her sleeping is apparently really good considering she usually only wakes up once (sometimes twice) a night but for this poor Mommy it still seems like we could do better ;-) Overall, little Mila is a wonderful, happy baby (unless she's hungry or extra tired) and has been such a blessing to our family. Gaby adores her and is so caring and protective of her. We are settling into our new routines and will hopefully soon get on a set schedule. This Mommy is a fan of schedules :)

Jardin de Ninos Christmas Show

Gaby's school does an annual Christmas show. This year being in Kindergarten, Gaby and her class sang 4 songs both in Spanish and English. Her favorite? Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! She did super and really seems comfortable being on stage now.

December Dance Recital

Our precious little ballerina had a recital this past weekend. She did great as usual and was super excited to get up on stage to show her stuff! They danced to "Let's get Together".
