Happy Easter!

San Antonio

Gaby, Byron and I took a mini vacation taking advantage of Byron having Good Friday off. We left sweet Mila in Austin with my parents and headed to The Hyatt Hill Country. We hung out by the pool all day and ate some great food! Saturday we headed to the San Antonio Zoo to check out the animals and then were back home for Easter. We had a nice, relaxing time :)

Cousin Camp

Spring Break was March 12-16 this year. Mimi & Papa were nice enough to conduct "Cousin Camp" again, so Gaby and Mia went off together for a week of fun at the farm! I know these memories are just priceless!! Here are some long overdue pictures...

Reading!

Gaby has learned to read so well this year! She loves reading and does it any chance she can get. It's pretty amazing to hear her from the back seat of the car reading all the street signs she sees. It must be really incredible to all of a sudden be able to read the signs you've been seeing all of these years. The really neat thing is that because of her school, she can read in both English and Spanish. The other great part is that now she reads her bedtime stories to us! We are so proud of her :)

Bluebonnets!!

Spring has sprung in Austin!! The blueblonnets are out in full force thankfully after all the rain we've been getting this past month. So naturally, I had to take my beautiful girls out to snap a few shots....

Now, we are in trouble....

Our fearless little girl is now trying to climb up the stairs any chance she can get! Learning the word "NO!" is our next lesson, don't you think?? Little stinker :)

Natural Progression

I guess the natural progression from crawling is pulling up to standing. Oh boy, this little girl is hitting her milestones FAST!!! Mila loves to stand now and especially enjoys standing up in her crib. Occasionally, she has trouble getting back down. That doesn't bode so well when it's the middle of the night ;)

Kite Festival 2012

Our most favorite day of the year was today! The annual Zilker Park Kite Festival. The weather was picture perfect- the sky was a gorgeous blue with not a cloud in sight, the temperature was an amazing 75 degrees, and the wind was kicking up just right! As an added bonus this year, Byron was actually able to join us! (He has been on call for the past couple of years.) We enjoyed a wonderful day outside with a yummy picnic, some friends, and pretty much the majority of the Austin population.

Naked girls!!

The most fun time in our house is right before baths! The girls both get naked and enjoy the freedom for a few minutes before it's time to get clean. Gaby thinks that is the most hilarious thing in the world- to be naked with her sissy :) Imagine how fun it will be when they can take baths together!!

Crawling!!!

Mila is crawling!!!

Goodness gracious that was fast! For the record, she started crawling just shy of 6 and a half months. And once she started there was no "slow and steady" just "moving and grooving"! Of course her main targets are the TV/DVD components and the boys. Watch out Rosko and Ozzie, she's after you! The world as we know it has changed yet again ;-)

Half a year old! That's crazy!

Guess what our big girl did to celebrate her "birthday"??

She sat up all on her own! Can you believe it? She is also starting to smile more (although it's hard to catch with the camera!) and our serious little cutie is beginning to give up the giggles now. I guess she realizes we might actually be kinda funny :)

Again, a much smaller peanut than our Gaby ever was. Especially, the head circumference- I guess she was spared me and Gaby's big melon :)We are starting to get the sleeping under control, I think. Mila was moved into her own room, into her crib, we made some formula changes, started swaddling her again and have a pretty set bedtime routine. I believe all of these things are helping her to sleep for longer stretches. For a while there we were up EVERY.COUPLE.OF.HOURS!!!!And finally, our little girl is up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth already! I'm scared to think that crawling might be eminent. Yikes!!
