Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade

When we are in town for Thanksgiving we like to go to the Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade.  You are encouraged to donate toys to give to those who cannot afford their own.  It's a small but always great parade!  This year we went with the Riley's and Patty and her kids.  Fun!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year for Thanksgiving we were supposed to go to the Farm in Louisiana to be with Byron's family. On our way there, there was a gigantic wreck on I-10. It was very foggy that morning and apparently there were 50+ cars involved in the wreck including lots of big 18 wheelers. We were stuck in the traffic behind it for almost THREE hours! And with a not too pleased Mila in the car. After realizing that we were going no where fast, we had to make the decision to turn around and go back to Houston. We were very THANKFUL, though, that we were caught behind the wreck and not IN it!! And we were lucky enough to be able to join my family in their Thanksgiving festivities.

Happy Turkey Day!!
We stopped in Bastrop to see the big squirrel on our way back home :)

Tanner's 3rd Bday

Can you believe our little Tanner is already THREE?? We went down to Katy to help him celebrate. It was great warm weather and the kids ran themselves ragged! You can never go wrong with a bouncy house :) Happy Birthday, TanMan!!

Bastrop Pumpkin Patch

We chose a beautiful fall (although it was like 80+ degrees!) day to meet up with our friends, the Rileys and the Stephens, at a new pumpkin patch in Bastrop. Then men enjoyed the patch much more because they sold beer ;-). We had a fun time running around with the kids and taking pretty pictures.

Bobbing for apples...
Tripp, Levi, Tate, Mila, Gaby & Emmylou (just missing Miller!)

A very rare picture of all four of us!!

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween Gaby wanted to be a beautiful butterfly and decided that Mila must be a flower to coordinate. Her wish is my command! I found pretty darn cute costumes for my two sweeties :)
Here is Mila loving bouncing around in a bounce house for the first time....

Fall Family Photos

We decided to take our fall family photos out in downtown Austin. We wanted to get a photo with the skyline behind us. Of course, that morning was the coldest morning we've that thus far and we had to cover the girls pretty matching dresses with sweaters. But despite the cold, I think we got some pretty good shots :)

Morning Assembly

Mila loves to attend morning assembly like the big kids.
Sometimes we go in our jammies.
That's only ok when you are as cute as she is :)

Taekwondo

This semester Gaby wanted to take a break from Dance class and surprisingly chose to take Taekwondo. She seems to really enjoy it! It is quite a change from what she is used to. The instructor is pretty darn strict and serious but she likes it. We thinkg learning some self defense is pretty awesome! Check our our cute ninja!!

First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was Gaby's first day of school at Bridgepoint Elementary.  It's an exemplary public school right by our house.  This is a big school folks, there are 750 kids in the elementary school and 5 Kindergartens!  Each Kindergarten class has around 20 students. It is a big change from what Gaby is used to but she is very excited to go to school there and already knows a few people in her own classroom (Her good buddy and dance friend, Maddie, is in her class.  Her teacher's name is Ms. Sckonieczny (yes, it's a mouthful!!) who seems very nice and has a great reputation as a wonderful teacher.  Every morning there is an all school assembly where the principal, Mr. Werht, goes over any announcements, leads the pledge of allegiance, and announces any birthdays.  The parents are welcome to attend and my goal is to go to as many as I can. We are looking forward to this very exciting new adventure!
