The annual Bobcat Welcome is an opportunity to meet your new teacher and check out your new classroom. This year Gaby got Mrs. VanZandt and her classroom is really neat. She was very excited to be back on campus and ready for her first day of 1st grade :)

Mila's 2nd Bday Party

We had a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party for Mila this year. I got her the cutest little outfit! We had a few of our closest friends and family over to celebrate the big day. The birthday girl had a great time running around, jumping in the bounce house and eating pink cupcakes. Happy 2nd Birthday, Mila!!

Our big TWO year old!!

It's so hard to believe that our little peanut is already TWO years old! It's so cliche but where does the time go? Mila is really the coolest, funniest kid around. She is sassy, independent, and extremely intelligent. She has reached most of her milestones ahead of schedule except for one- she's not a huge fan of talking just yet. She does a very successful squeal which makes all of us jump to get her whatever the heck she wants just so that she will stop making that horrific sound ;-) She understands everything, she is just not quite ready to say it herself. Her motor skills though are pretty impressive- she never really walks, she is running (like Forrest Gump)! And she is a great jumper, has no fear on the scooter and likes to swing as high as you can push her. She will very impressively eat food ALL day long but is still a petite little thing. Right now she lives for yogurt, mash-ups and goldfish. Besides all that, though, she is a sweet and cuddly little thing and is always toting around her teddy, blanket and chupo (paci) everywhere she can. She adores her big sis and can't get enough of her daddy once he comes home from work. We are blessed to have this amazing little person in our family and look forward to what she will bring in the future. Here are some awesome pics from her 2 yr photo shoot....

Dallas Girls Trip

For our last summer outing, I decided to take a little roadtrip with my girls to Dallas while Byron was on call. We went to go visit our buds the Davis'. It was a fun few days and we did alot of fun things including going to a trampoline park (all the pics from that are blurry!), swimming in their pool, and playing lots of games at their house. On our way back home we hit the Dallas Aquarium...

50th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary with a black tie party for their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful night filled with friendship and love and was the perfect way to honor my parent's and their enduring and amazing marriage.  They renewed their vows, we had a sit down dinner and then an awesome Latin band to dance the night away.  Their friends even got them a Mariachi band to serenade them. Surprisingly, Mila was the one who enjoyed the Mariachis the most :) Everyone had a great time and it was such a blessing to be able to celebrate such an important event.  Aren't my parent's are just the cutest couple ever??

Ears Pierced!

Gaby decided to get her ears pierced. Again. Last time they got infected and she would NOT let us put them back in. So I waited patiently for her to want them pierced again. And then I waited some more to make sure she was definitely ready. I was not about to try this more than once! She was very brave and although she did try to back out last minute she went through with it like a brave girl and only cried a little bit. Of course, once we got some ice cream, everything was right with the world again ;-)
