First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was Gaby's first day of school at Bridgepoint Elementary.  It's an exemplary public school right by our house.  This is a big school folks, there are 750 kids in the elementary school and 5 Kindergartens!  Each Kindergarten class has around 20 students. It is a big change from what Gaby is used to but she is very excited to go to school there and already knows a few people in her own classroom (Her good buddy and dance friend, Maddie, is in her class.  Her teacher's name is Ms. Sckonieczny (yes, it's a mouthful!!) who seems very nice and has a great reputation as a wonderful teacher.  Every morning there is an all school assembly where the principal, Mr. Werht, goes over any announcements, leads the pledge of allegiance, and announces any birthdays.  The parents are welcome to attend and my goal is to go to as many as I can. We are looking forward to this very exciting new adventure!

Mila Turns One!!!

Our little peanut turns one!!  It's amazing how quickly time flies!  We had a small family party for her at the house. She dressed up in her adorable birthday outfit (it's so fun having a girl so you can dress her up in crazy outfits!) and she got to eat her own personal cake.  She really enjoyed the icing!!
Happy 1st Birthday to
my sweet Mila Grace!!!

Cheer Camp

Gaby attended Tot Cheer Camp for a week this summer with a bunch of her buddies at Champions Westlake.  She absolutely loved it!!!  And she did pretty darn good.  We are still working on the cartwheels but otherwise I think there might be cheerleading in her future. Here are a few of her buddies- Sloan, Maddie & Hampton...
Check out the video below....

Horseshoe Bay

What better way to celebrate my parent's wonderful, loving and very long (49 years!!) marriage?  Well, with a family trip to Horseshoe Bay for some fun in the sun!  We enjoyed the pool, rented a boat, and ate some good food.  It was a fun trip :)

Walking?!?!?

Our little peanut has started walking!!!!  At 10 and a half months!  Oh my.  We are in for a ride with this little one.  I can't believe she started so quickly.  She is just blasting through all the milestones!!  Trying to keep up with her sissy, I guess :)

Seaside 2012

Were were lucky enough to be able to go on the 2nd annual Seaside, Florida trip to the Tramonte's beautiful beachhouse this year. It was a fabulous week of sea, sand and sun! Mila's first flight was a bit....um.....torturous would be a good word! But lucky it was a short flight and we all survived :) At the beach she did great and slept and ate well so we really can't complain. They both loved spending time with their cousins and had an absolute blast!! Thanks, Tramontes :)

Little Beggar

Usually Byron gets home after the girls and I have already eaten so he grabs his plate and joins us in the playroom. And without fail, our little Mila starts to climb up on him begging for a few bites. It is just too cute not to document!

The Griffin Boys in the ATX!

Laurel and the Griffin Boys came to visit us for a couple of days during their whirlwind trip to Texas. We ran around town looking for fun and trying to escape the heat. This picture is from Deep Eddy Pool- the oldest, natural spring fed pool in Austin. Good times!

Dance Recital 2012

Gaby did another great job at her dance recital this year! No fear whatsoever on stage. She kept up with the song and remembered her moves. This year's song was "I Want Candy". A very appropriate song for a bunch of 5 yr olds :)

Graduation

Gaby's graduation from Jardin de Ninos was such a proud moment. We were so happy for her. She did so well this year and we are pleased with all that she has learned at her little bilingual school. She has been going there since she was one and a half! We really hope the Spanish is "stuck" in her head and that she continues to practice (I know alot of that depends on me- yikes!). Congrats sweetie!!

Last Day of School

Gaby's last day at Jardin de Ninos was Pajama Day and a class party! Gaby has loved her school and all of her friends very much but she also seems super excited about next year and her new school.  We hope that all of these years in a Spanish immersion school have worked and that she will retain the language for the rest of her life.  Of course, I know alot of that responsibilty falls on me and I will have to make a concerted effort to speak to her in Spanish and help her practice. For now, though, it's on to new adventures for our big girl!!
