11 days...

...That's how long my little sweetie has been sick. That, my friends, is a long time to deal w/ a cranky toddler. And the weirdest thing about the sickness is that it kept on coming and going. You think you're in the clear and then back to comes.

So it started almost two weeks ago w/ that 24 hr stomach virus thing and then continued w/ fevers, lethargy, loss of appetite, general crankiness, and a very painful sounding cough. Through all that we trapsed poor Gaby to Dallas and back, tromped her through some strawberry fields and then hauled her to San Antonio for a mini Holt family vacation (more on that later).

Parents of the year, we are not.

All last week, though, Gaby and I were pretty much on lock down at home. No school, no park, no swim lessons, no playdates, no nothing. When we went to the pediatrician on Thursday she said she had an ear infection and gave us an antibiotic. That's why we figured by Saturday morning we'd be good to go for San Antonio.

Well, the cough did not get any better. If anything it got kind of worse and the nights were no fun for our poor baby- major coughing fits! So back to the pediatrician we went today to see what more we could do and after a head x-ray it was determined that Gaby has yet again another very resistant sinus infection. Remember this?? Her little sinus' where totally full of gunk as well as her ears! Sounds like she is going to be prone to sinus infections. That is no good.

So now she is on Bactrin. What's crazy is that after one dose it seemed like she was already feeling so much better. Maybe she was just happy to be back home. In either case, hopefully she'll be back to her cheerful, sweet self again soon.
