Austin Rodeo

Austin has a yearly Rodeo. Who knew?? It's not as big as the Houston Rodeo but, I tell you what, it was just perfect for a two year old to enjoy. There was so much neat stuff for Gaby to do.

Like feeding the deer...

Riding mini tractors...

Going for a pony ride...

Riding a roller coaster for the first time...

She loved it! No fear!

Gaby was joined by her friend, Jaden...

Yipee!! Wahooooo!!

We ended the day w/ a carousel ride...

It's so neat to witness sheer excitement.

Gaby had an absolute blast today!

The Houston Zoo

Gaby & I were in Houston this weekend and we wanted to hang out w/Mia. So, we headed to the zoo! The girls were so happy to see each other again!

We got there in time to see the elephants getting their daily shower/scrub down. The girls were mesmerized...

Here he is holding up his foot, so they don't miss a spot :)

There were lots of giraffes!!

We saw the monkeys grooming each other...

...and then Candie decided to groom Steven :) The Carousel was lots of fun!!

And the goats at the petting zoo were kinda cute but very stinky...

The seals were sunbathing...

The weather was perfect for a fun day at the zoo!

Will wonders never cease??

Tonight.....as we were eating dinner......my beautiful daughter........asked me for........are you ready for this?............wait for it...............leche!!!!

Yes, folks, you read it correctly. She actually requested to drink MILK!?! We acted really normal like it wasn't any big deal but we were sooo surprised and happy. I'm not sure if this is the official end of the infamous Milk Boycott but it sure was an amazing surprise :)

Goooo Gaby!!!

Big News!

Gaby freely and willingly ate a green vegetable today! She hasn't knowingly eaten a green vegetable in months. Usually, they are hidden in her pasta- smothered in cheese or tomato sauce.

There's only two green foods that she will actually eat:
1)Guacamole- I think that's mainly b/c she can eat it with chips :)
2)Edamame- the kid loves all her beans!

But today, she ate asparagus!! Three whole stalks!

I. Am. So. Proud.

Happy B-day, Andrew!

Sunday was Gaby's buddy Andrew's 2nd B-day party! It was at one of Gaby's favorite places- Gymboree!
The bubbles are always a hit!!
Poor Gaby didn't have any fun at all ;)

Mimi & Papa

Mimi & Papa came to visit us for 5 whole days!!
Our little Gaby was thrilled!
I swear, the kid was practically giddy the whole time they were here. And as soon as one of them left her sight it was- "Where'd Papa go? Where'd Mimi go?". Papa and Byron always attend the high school basketball state championship. So on Thurs and Fri, while I was at work, Mimi got her one-on-one time with the princess. She got her hair done... Saturday, the girls made a little roadtrip to San Marcos to hit the outlets...
Back at home, there was a little dancing...

and a little singing...
Gaby gave some Leapster tutorials...
And we just hung around alot, since the weather this weekend was cold and rainy. Mimi & Papa really enjoyed their visit with Gaby and I know she was extrememly happy to spend so much time with them.

Zilker Fun

After a lazy Sunday morning, we headed to Zilker park and

threw around the football...

did some rock wall climbing...

and watched the ducks & swans swimming...

The weather's been so great!!

Shark Dance

We went to a very cool kid's bday party on Saturday for Carter's 5th birthday. It was at a bar downtown. The dancefloor is a shark tank!! They play kids music and all the little ones get their groove on! Gaby had a blast! My camera battery ran out so I only got a few pics. Half the time Gaby was laying on the floor watching the sharks swim :)

School is Cool!

The last few times Patty & I have picked Gaby up from school she hasn't wanted to go. She's out there on the big patio they have playing with her friends and doesn't seem the slightest bit interested in going home. So we end up sitting there for a while watching her play until we can convince her to leave. It's so great! It makes me very happy to know that she is enjoying her school, her teachers and making friends.

The Kite Festival !

This weekend we were paid a visit by two of my dear high school friends, Stephanie & Melissa. Stephanie is one of my loyalest blog readers and this was her first time meeting Gaby. She very sweetly brought her a goody bag full of great things like fairy wings, sunglasses, purses, and hair accessories. Gaby quickly proceeded to wear everything at once...

Saturday night we had a nice girls dinner- sushi & wine. Fun, fun! The next morning there was a little coloring...
Before we spent the day at the Austin Kite Festival. We could not have asked for better weather! Not a cloud in the sky, sunny and breezy. Perfect for flying a kite. Our kites didn't do so well but we sure enjoyed watching all the other ones fly! We had a little picnic, enjoyed the great weather and ran around with Gabs. It was splendid!

There even were a few bouncy houses...

These kinds of fun events are why I love Austin :)
